I have had an amazing career that blends education and technology. I started in corporate training where I enjoyed traveling the country and developing new courses and course materials. As the internet bloomed, I had the opportunity to serve as Testing, Technical Support, and Training Manager for a start-up company.

My next adventure focused on developing and delivering training for a publisher. As they grew, so did I. eLearning was not yet a buzz word, but online learning became a need. I was able to fill this void by creating lessons on the corporate intranet.

After moving to the Carolinas, I found  two of my passions, higher education and instructional design. I had the pleasure of working for one of the largest community colleges in North Carolina as an Instructional Developer for eLearning. During this time I worked on a Masters degree in Instructional Design and Technology and enjoyed applying those skills every day in order to enhance learning for their students and faculty.

In 2017 I moved from higher education to a non-profit research institute where I was able to help start up a new training department. I served as lead LMS Administrator and Lead Instructional Designer/Developer as we implemented a new learning management system and transformed old downloadable Flash courses for delivery in a modern streaming environment. I created the branding for our new courses and developed templates and guidelines for contractors and vendors.

This once new new department kept growing. In 2020 I was promoted to a Technical Leader role and in 2022 I earned another promotion to Senior Technical Leader. During this period, I was still focused on Instructional Design and Development of online courses, but also took on more project and people management. I was honored multiple times at this company, once when I received a Performance Recognition Award and again when I was chosen to be a part of the steering committee to start up a new DEI program for the institute.

In 2023, I made my next move to a different non-profit research institute. With this role, I got back to my roots in information technology by serving as the sole Instructional Designer/Developer for the Enterprise IT organization. I worked strategically with stakeholders, including the CIO to develop learning plans for major IT initiatives. I then implemented those plans by creating guidance documentation, on-demand learning courses, and webpages for user education. I also had the honor of chairing the EIT DEI team for over a year. Unfortunately, due to cuts in government funding, this role was eliminated during a reduction in staff in the fall of 2025.

Now I am seeking my next adventure in learning and development! I am excited to find an opportunity to share my expertise, grow as an individual contributor and a leader, and be a part of creating engaging learning opportunities.
