One of my favorite free tools for creating media is Office Mix, a plug-in to Microsoft PowerPoint. It provides a seamless way to add narration, annotation, and quizzing to an existing slide show. The final project can be exported as a video and/or hosted on Microsoft's Office Mix server. With the proper Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) installed on a Learning Management System , quiz grades can even be stored for instructor review.
